The company continues its heritage of symmetrical frames, extended 100mm handle lengths, and precision cut materials with the C3, but moves forward with an all-new drag system suited for pelagics and more.
Much like other Marfix reels, the C3 starts its life with its one-piece aluminum frame. The frame serves as a rigid and robust housing that not only eliminates potential flex but greatly enhances its gearing and other internal functions for improved longevity, power transmission, and efficiency. At the heart of its framework is the reels high-strength stainless steel machine cut helical gear, maximize winding experience for a smooth retrieve. Its one-way clutch backs up its powerful gearing, eliminating any possible slippage and ensures every bit of stopping power can be deployed when needed.
A carbon fiber and cork drag system within the reel stands up to the fast and speedy runs that many pelagics offer such as bluefin and yellowfin tuna. The reels ratcheting lever drag mechanism holds its predetermined drag steady throughout the fight, with the ease of adjustment with your palm or fingers. At the handle is an adjustable two-position arm, 80mm at its first position for quicker rotation while 100mm at its second position for added leverage and torque.
