The N4 starts its life with a rigid machine cut one-piece aluminum frame, built to mitigate chances of reel flex when under immense pressure. Complete power transmission with every turn of the handle is kept, while the housing serves as a stable platform for its internal gearing and mechanisms to operate within. The frame itself is also narrower than typical conventional reels, providing greater control and less twisting in hand for extended fights.
At the heart of the N4 is its machine cut stainless-steel gearing, supplying plenty of winding torque and enhancing the overall longevity of the gears, ready to withstand hard use against some of the most grueling species. Large diameter cork drag washers are used, delivering a silky-smooth drag that doesn’t burn up like other materials. Cork naturally dissipates heat, preventing any distortion of the washers themselves as well as eliminating the stickiness often created by other materials as they heat up.
The two-position aluminum handle on the N4 reaches both 80mm and 100mm distances for angler preference. More torque can be applied with the 100mm, while faster rotation can be had with the 80mm. Its extended length EVA handle knob ensures a comfortable grip that’s easy to hold to for your entire hand, working to eliminate hot spots. Drag settings are kept consistently thanks to its ratcheting lever drag, with users being allowed to make precise adjustments throughout the fight with greater control.
